BALLOON ROCKET
Create your own balloon rocket and watch as it blasts off!
IMPORTANT: Before we get started, find a grown-up to help. Scissors are needed for this experiment and you may need someone to help assist you.
Things you will need:
- a balloon
- sticky tape
- scissors (get an adult to help you use these!)
- paper straws
- a sheet of paper (optional)
LET'S GET STARTED
Step 1: Take your balloon and cut off part of the end with scissors. (The bit where you tie!)
Remember to get an adult to help you use the scissors.
Step 2: Place the balloon onto the end of your straw and tape it in place so that it is nice and secure.
Make sure that there are no gaps for air to escape.
Step 3: (Optional) If you're feeling artistic, you can decorate the straw by adding fins!
Step 4: Blow up the balloon by blowing into the straw. Once the balloon is fully inflated, you're ready for blast off!
Point it vertically and let it go outside, watch as it shoots up into the sky!
TOP TIP
Place your finger over the straw in between breaths!
